- Evaluation sets. Someone has to write the questions and correct answers that prove the system works. Budget days, not hours.
- Data cleanup. Documents, CRM records and spreadsheets are messier than anyone admits.
- Human review. Early on, a person checks a share of outputs. That is a staffing cost.
- Integrations. The agent is only useful connected to your systems — and legacy systems fight back.
- Model changes. Providers retire and change models; each change needs an eval run and sometimes prompt work.
- Monitoring. Tracing, dashboards and alerting for quality, cost and latency.
- Change management. Training your team and updating processes so the tool actually gets used.
